Ensuring residents and perspective residents have access to all levels of housing has been and continues to be one of my focal points. As a city that is completely developed and surrounded by other cities, preservation of our single-family homes and naturally occurring affordable housing is a commodity. Rental units make up about 60% of our housing options. Homeowners and renters alike bring a vibrancy and economic impact to our city and to our local businesses. Investing wisely in our hometown is critical to ensure the financial stability of Hopkins, not only for today but for tomorrow. I wanted to officially let you know that I am running for re-election as Mayor of the City of Hopkins. It is my honor and privilege to currently be serving as Mayor and I look forward to using the foundation that we have created to continue ensuring the hometown feel of Hopkins, continue the focus on equality for all residents, continue the strong financial long-term planning, continue seeing the passion and vibrancy of our city thrive for today and tomorrow.The past couple of years, our residents, businesses and city were impacted by a global pandemic and racial unrest. I learned that the strength of Hopkins comes from the solid foundation we have created over the past years that allowed us to start to emerge with a strength and vitality that other cities have not.
